Peripheral Drive Sludge Scraper
Product Overview
The Peripheral Drive Sludge Scraper is a continuous sludge and scum
removal system used in large circular sedimentation tanks.
Driven from the periphery around a central column, the scraper arms
rotate slowly to collect sludge from the bottom and skim scum from
the surface.
It features reliable performance, low maintenance, and is widely
used in municipal and industrial wastewater treatment applications.
Working Principle
The scraper consists of a working bridge, central column, drive
unit, scraper arms, and scum removal system.
The drive motor and gearbox rotate the arms around the tank center.
The bottom scrapers push settled sludge to the central hopper,
while surface skimmers move scum to the scum trough.
Sludge is discharged through a pipe and scum removed by overflow or
pumping, ensuring continuous sedimentation and automatic sludge
removal.
Main Components
Central Column: Supports rotating parts; stainless steel or coated carbon steel.
Bridge: Connects tank periphery and center, carrying the drive assembly.
Drive Unit: Integrated motor, reducer, and wheel; provides stable transmission.
Scraper Arm & Blade: Push sludge to the central hopper.
Scum Scraper: Collects and directs surface scum.
Sludge Hopper & Pipe: Concentrated sludge discharge outlet.
Control System: PLC-based control with torque monitoring and protection.
