Center-Drive Sludge Scraper
Product Overview
The Central Drive Sludge Scraper is designed for circular
sedimentation and thickening tanks to collect and discharge settled
sludge from the tank bottom.
Driven by a central gearbox, the scraper arms rotate slowly,
pushing sludge toward the central hopper for discharge, while
optional skimmers remove surface scum.
It features simple structure, reliable operation, and easy
maintenance, making it ideal for municipal and industrial
wastewater treatment plants.
Working Principle
Wastewater enters through the central feed pipe and distributes
evenly within the circular tank.
Under gravity, solids settle at the bottom. The central drive
mechanism rotates scraper arms slowly, directing sludge toward the
center hopper for discharge by gravity or suction.
Surface scum is collected by the scum skimmer and discharged via
the scum trough.
The system supports automatic operation and overload protection.
Main Components
Central Drive Unit: Gear reducer and shaft assembly driving scraper rotation.
Scraper Arm & Blades: Radially arranged arms directing sludge to center.
Central Bearing Support: Ensures smooth rotation and torque stability.
Sludge Hopper & Discharge Pipe: Collects and removes sludge.
Scum Skimmer (Optional): Removes floating scum from surface.
Bridge or Platform: Supports drive unit and provides access.
Control System: PLC control with overload protection.
