Product Overview
The Vertical Shaft Central Drive Sludge Scraper is designed for
large circular clarifiers and thickeners, providing efficient
sludge collection and discharge.
A vertical rack structure supports the central drive unit, which
transmits torque through a vertical shaft to the scraper arms.
It ensures smooth operation, uniform torque distribution, and
reliable performance under heavy loads and large diameters.
Working Principle
Wastewater flows into the clarifier via the central feed well,
where solids settle by gravity.
The central drive rotates scraper arms through a vertical shaft,
collecting sludge toward the center hopper using blades and guide
plates.
Sludge is discharged by gravity or suction.
The system includes automatic torque monitoring for overload
protection and may include a surface scum skimmer.
