Product Overview

The Dissolved Air Flotation (DAF) Water Filtration System is a high-efficiency water clarification unit designed to remove suspended solids, oils, greases, algae, and other impurities from raw water or wastewater.
By utilizing microscopic air bubbles to float fine particles to the surface, the DAF system achieves superior solid-liquid separation efficiency compared to traditional sedimentation.
It is widely applied in industrial wastewater treatment, drinking water clarification, and pretreatment for membrane filtration systems.
The system features compact structure, automatic operation, and stable performance.

Working Principle

The DAF system operates on the principle of air flotation.
Water is first saturated with air under high pressure in a dissolved air tank. When released into the flotation tank at atmospheric pressure, the dissolved air forms tiny microbubbles (30–50 μm) that attach to suspended particles.
These air-particle aggregates float to the water surface, forming a scum layer that is continuously removed by a surface skimmer.
The clarified water flows out through the bottom outlet, while the sludge is discharged for further treatment.
The process can be enhanced by adding coagulants and flocculants upstream.
